On a gorgeous Sunny Saturday, specifically Saturday July 28th, 2012,
Carolyn and Chris Deal signed, sealed, and delivered their vows in her
childhood homes backyard in east Sioux Falls. The ceremony was almost
hindered due to the first measurable rain in the area in over 2 months
but the weather broke just before the 3 pm start creating a beautiful,
sunny backdrop for the service. Pastor Michael delivered a wonderful
sermon full of joy, hope, and his sincere wishes for a long and happy
life together in front of 150 of their closest friends and family.
There ceremony was followed by a gorgeous reception held at All
Occasion in Tea, SD. The hall was decorated with elegant whole room
uplighting, custom monogram, and purple flowered centerpieces; that
together set the atmosphere for the entire night.
The bridal party arrived around 6:30pm and made their grand entrance
to “Bring Em Out”, by TI and Jay-Z. Every bridesmaid was accompanied
by their groomsman and they danced all the way up to the dance floor.
The Matron of Honor Megan was even escorted upon the shoulders or best
Friends and Family all enjoyed up beat dinner music, while visiting
and catching up with each other, as tables were dismissed for dinner.
After everyone was through the dinner line, we all watched a slide
show of Carolyn and Chris, showcasing their lives separately growing
up, and ending with their life now being together!
The first one to give a toast to the newly wed couple was best man,
Adam. Adam talked about growing up with Chris and how he felt like “A
DEAL”. He brought up a memory about one of the first times Chris
introduced Carolyn to him and some other “guy” friends… They were
listening to music and an old favorite song came on by Neil Diamond,
“Sweet Caroline”, and Carolyn had NO problem letting them all know
that her name was Carolyn. Adam said it was after that that they knew
she was good for Chris Carolyn’s sisters, Megan and Natalie,
followed Adam with their speech. They were very sweet, with a touch
of humor… just what you would want from your sisters on your wedding
day! We then handed the mic over to Carolyn’s parents, Dana and
Patricia. It was Dana’s birthday so every guest sang Happy Birthday
to him before he began his speech. They welcomed Chris into their
family, thanked everyone for coming, and then handed the mic to
Chris’s parents Dan and Janet. Janet had her speech all ready! They
too welcomed Carolyn to their family and as tradition with the Deal
Family, she received a shirt that said “Real Deal” on it, and new
license plate that said “The Deal”, and they must exchange something
from Dan and Janet’s house to help Chris and Carolyn begin their home
together. So, Janet found a “slightly” used sheet give to them
Now it’s time to DANCE, we began with Chris and Carolyn’s first dance
together to Keith Urban’s “Only You Can Love Me This Way”. We then
had Dana and Janet join them on the dance floor for the
Father/Daughter, Mother/Son dance. After that we opened the dance
floor up to all the friends and family. Both families were full of
happiness to celebrate with Chris and Carolyn. All of Carolyn’s Aunts
had a special dance they did with Def Leppard “Pour Some Sugar On Me”.
They all arranged a conga line around the entire room to “We Are
They even had Grandma dancing to “I’m Sexy And I Know It”.
The song that takes the cake is “Semi Charmed Life”, the entire group
same with the song and danced to the song.
