Don’t Stop Believing in South Dakota… An Okoboji Wedding Surprise!
The Arrowwood Resort in beautiful Lake Okoboji provided a beautiful backdrop for Slade and Stephanie Larcheid’s wedding celebration. The doors opened with guests entering around 3:30 to the Wimbledon room with two walls adorned in a beautiful champagne color washing behind the head table, opposing wall, and the entrances as well. The beautiful cake from “Cake Me Away” was minimalistic and complex at the same time. The white with white fondant was absolutely breath taking especially with pin spots strategically placed to illuminate the cake in the middle of the dance floor.. The lighting really gave the cake that “WOW” factor.
With the help of our bride and groom we designed a logo for the projector and screen, designed a slideshow for them using custom edits for the brides, groom, and the together portion as well. But the best surprise was during the bride and grooms first dance to “Boyce Avenue – Don’t Stop Believing” we inserted the grooms voice saying “Born and raised in South Dakota” instead of the traditional south Detroit. The couple and their audience applauded with approval.
The reception was great with hors-d’oeuvres and cocktails starting at 3:30 with dinner following after. The staff from the Arrowwood outdid themselves on the twin buffet serving stations with juicy chicken breast, and some of the most tender flavorful roast beef ever! Green beans, mashed potatoes and dinner rolls were the perfect sides for a meal fit for royalty.
The dancing began around 7:30 with the Boyce Avenue song and finished around Midnight and during which time the dance floor was packed with the bride and grooms favorite tunes! Our brides cousins did a routine to “Rockafeller Skank” much to the delight of the rest of the crowd.
This was another example of how you can do things alittle different and reflect your style all while remaining engaged with your friends and family! Everyone had a great time and Steph and Slade’s family were very happy to be there and share their support and love as they began their lives together.
Thank you from everyone at Pinnacle Productions for allowing us to get to know the two of you. Working with you every step of the way we have no doubt that you will be blessed with all of lifes finer things. Thanks again and best wishes as you begin your journey together!
Laura and Brent’s Wedding Recap from Beresford SD
This past weekend we performed a spectacular wedding dance for Mr. and Mrs. Laura and Brent Horner at the Bridges in Beresford, South Dakota. The dance was one for the ages with everyone dancing from young to old from the beginning of the night to the last song. The highlight of the evening was when Laura surprised Brent with his own “wedding cake” as a John Deer tractor GPS. A big THANK-YOU to Bridges for their amazing meal, and service! What a beautiful facility and your staff was amazing to work with. Laura and Brent, you guys were awesome and entertaining to work with. It was a pleasure to have been chosen for your entertainment. We wish you the very best as you begin your lives together!
Amazing Outdoor Wedding in NW Iowa
It’s not everyday that we as Dj’s are blessed to work outdoors in 95+ heat and 100% humidity, but on 7/16/2011 we were indeed blessed to work with an amazing couple. John and Andrea were married in the backyard of the brides parents Dennis and Marsha’s beautiful Hull Iowa home. The ceremony featured processionals and recessionals by two very talented violinists, a beautiful song for the exchanging of the rings by one of the bridesmaids who actually learned to play guitar specifically to play and sing for this momentous occasion. But the most touching moment was when the father of the bride handed his daughter off to his future son in law to a recording done earlier of himself singing Butterfly Kisses for our lovely bride.
After the ceremony the reception and dance moved to Vander Koi Freight’s terminal where multiple tents were erected to house the guests, refreshments, food, and fun! The details and decor was inspired and put together mostly by Andi and her entourage of “SHOULD BE” professional decorators. They were unique, charming details that reminded you of family picnic. The picnic theme was reiterated in the menu as well. There was a HUGE smoker on site that prepared brisket, pork loin, corn on the cob, baked beans with pulled pork, cole slaw. And then the cake… OMG the cake! At least 5 different flavors of cakes, triple chocolate, lemon, strawberry cake… The word amazing doesn’t do justice but the spread added to the feel of a family picnic and the comfort food ALMOST made you forget how HOT it was still..
The hottest part of the night was the dancing! The first dances were about 8:30 and under the scene of an orange and red setting sun in the horizon. The night was just getting started as the party went full on till midnight with natural lighting from the stars in the sky and the fireflies. People danced and sang along and created the type of party that we dream of!
We received dozens of compliments about the outdoor ceremony we performed and our ability to keep the crowd engaged, and having a great time even after the sun would have drained most of the energy from most wedding parties… But one things for sure, these guys were there to celebrate and awesome wedding…
The photographers for the event just happened to be our friends Jeff and Valerie Sampson from Jeff Sampson Photography from Sioux Falls SD. We shared some great food, conversations, and thoughts about how we were each excited for the opportunity to BLOG about the wedding memories we were taking from the celebration. Thank you guys for your company and for the outstanding approach you take with your business as well.
John and Andrea, you guys were so awesome to get to know and share this amazing hometown affair. You each put so much of yourselves into the planning and execution of this fabulous day. We were honored that you gave us the opportunity to work with you on all aspects and planning of your ceremony and reception. Thank you from all of us at Pinnacle Productions!
Brad and Ashley Donovan’s Wedding Celebration
Saturday, July 9th, Pinnacle Productions had the honor of providing entertainment for Mr. and Mrs. Donovan. The evening began with a slide show, showcasing Brad and Ashley through their years of growing up. There are very few receptions that choose to add karaoke into their big day but they did it right! It was shortly after the dance began the groomsman Pauly requested to sing “Shout”, by Otis Day and the Knights. The crowd loved it and everyone sang along. We played and they sang songs from all different generations.
One of the highlights of the night was when Tim Donovan, the father of the groom, was surrounded by the crowd as everyone sang “Pretty Good At Drinkin’ Beer”, by Billy Currington.
Brad and Ashley, thank-you very much for letting Pinnacle Productions be part of your celebration. We wish you two many many years together.
Brett and Kari’s Wedding Celebration
UNBELIEVABLE! That’s really the only word to accurately describe the Quall wedding celebration at the All Occasions Event Center in Tea SD. From the energetic bridal party introductions, to the PACKED dance floor, the night was an absolute blast! Kari and Brett have been working with us for about 6 months to plan everything special, fun, and unique into their wedding reception and it showed.
There were beautiful and eloquent speeches from the bridal party, a slideshow the bride made herself, and a completely jumpin’ party atmosphere from the first song to the end! It was hot outside, but much more so inside! The air conditioning worked great, but the amount of energy in the venue was the catalyst to an unforgettable wedding dance.
Kari and Brett, thank you so much for allowing us to be part of your first moments as a couple, and we are so pleased to have had the honor to work with you!
Congratulations and God bless!
Carter / DeBoer Wedding Celebration
Last night July 8th we were on the road to another wedding celebration north to Watertown. This time we were honored to provide entertainment for Katie and Tyler DeBoer and 350 of their closest friends and family.
The bridal colors of orange and lime green adorned the tables, centerpieces and the lovely bridesmaids dresses as well. The bride looked simply stunning in her beautiful dress and the groom and his groomsmen were comfortable in their loose fitting white shirts, khaki pants and flip flops. They actually exchanged vows in Mexico so there was also a well done slideshow from their wedding ceremony that the guests enjoyed as well.
Lunkers is a lakeside facility with an amazing wall of windows that allow you to see all of beauty of Lake Kampeska while enjoying what might have been the single best meal I’ve ever had at a wedding reception! Prime Rib, Chicken Cordon Bleu, homeade mashed potatoes, corn, and bread that were individually delicious but together…. WOW.. An all out assault on the tastebuds. To top it off the brides mom, with some help from her army, made 600 cupcakes for the guests! We were told we had to each have two… One for each hand.
The dancefloor was never empty as the kids took center stage early as they danced to some traditional favorites all the way to the end of the night when we ended with a couple beautiful ballads as Katie and Tyler shared their last dance as well.
Katie and Tyler, you were a blast to work with! It’s great to spend the evening with old friends and witness the love you share for one another.
Rock Rapids Crazy Wedding Dance!
On Saturday July 2nd Ashley and Jordan Kerr’s wedding celebration was simply AMAZING! From the beautiful chair covers to the awesome uplighting the Forster building in Rock Rapids was decorated with beautiful detail. The guests enjoyed a delectable buffet of chicken and beef with all the traditional sides and really added to the homey feel and blessing from the Pastor who just so happened to be the brides grandfather.
The entire place was on the dance floor from the first song to the very end with a very eclectic mix of music from 80′s, r&b, top 40 and even some of the hottest club tunes! The most memorable part of the night was watching literally everyone clapping their hands to Toni Basil’s “Mickey” and the bridesmaids working the dance floor to Beyonce, Usher, and even Jason Aldean!
This is another reminder why we truly are blessed with the best jobs! Entertaining this amazing group was indeed a pleasure, and we hope to provide entertainment to some of the other couples in attendance as they literally ran us out of business cards! Thank you Ashley and Jordan for allowing us to share your first dances and we hope you appreciate the memories created as much as we do! You guys rock!
Fabulous Wedding Celebration at the beautiful Sioux Falls Orpheum
On July 2nd, Pinnacle Productions was honored to provide entertainment for First Lieutenant Joshua and Elizabeth Gminksi’s, wedding reception. The reception was held at the Orphem Theater in Sioux Falls. Meg and the staff from the Orphem had red uplights along the wall, and every table was pin spotted. The room had a complete touch or elegance. Music and dancing was enjoyed from young and young at heart! The highlight of the dance was the maid of honor and her soon to be husband rocking the classic dance moves to the approval of the entire party!

Christian Wedding Celebration
On June 25th, Pinnacle Productions was honored to be part of John and Londa Florey’s wedding reception. The reception was held at Watertown Christian School Gym. Their bright pink colors with all the white drapes made the auditorium look anything but. This Christian Wedding Celebration was full of unique touches and the party goers enjoyed dancing to all types of music. The highlight of the evening when the bride showed her “hidden” talent of clogging, to Aaron Carters, “I Want Candy”. Not to be outdone by his beautiful bride the groom answered with his dance to “Cotton Eyed Joe”. The audience enjoyed themselves as there were smiles and laughter from young to old..
John and Londa, Pinnacle Productions thanks you for letting us be part of your wedding day.
